Zabaykalsky Krai Food Prices Mixed: Onions, Canned Meat Up; Potatoes, Apples Down
Zabaykalsky Krai residents have seen a mixed bag of price changes in their local food market over the past week. While some recipes like onions and canned meat for baby food have seen increases, others such as potatoes and apples have decreased in price.
The region has witnessed a 1.2% price hike for onions and a 3% increase for canned meat intended for baby food. This follows a broader trend of rising food prices in the area, largely attributed to supply chain disruptions, higher transportation and logistics costs, and the economic impact of international sanctions on Russia since its invasion of Ukraine in late February 2022.
In contrast, potatoes have seen an 8.9% price drop, and apples have decreased by 2.3%. Fresh white cabbage has also seen a 3.3% decrease in price. However, fresh cucumbers have increased by 6.2%, and chicken eggs have seen a 2.7% price rise. Canned fruit and berries for baby food have also increased by 1.3%, and cottage cheese has seen a 1.1% price hike.
Overall, while some food prices in Zabaykalsky Krai have decreased, the trend leans towards increasing prices, with cucumbers, canned goods, eggs, and other food products seeing rises over the week. Consumers are advised to monitor these changes and adjust their spending accordingly.
