Women's International Day Interview: A Dialogue with Jennifer Deutsch

Let's Celebrate the Lady Bosses on International Women's Day!

Happy International Women's Day! Today, we're shouting out to the badass women out there smashing barriers and creating a ripple effect of inspiration. Let's introduce you to one such lady boss, Jennifer Deutsch, the CMO at Park Place Technologies, and an avid green thumb. We had the pleasure of picking her brain about her career journey, wellness practices, and what it truly means to be a woman in a powerful position.

We cracked open a cold one and fired up the mic for our sit-down with the formidable Jennifer Deutsch. As a successful businesswoman, we were eager to grab some top-shelf wisdom and insights from her career path, her secrets to wellness, and what it's like being a woman in the driver's seat. Here's the lowdown on her experience, her mindset, and her words of wisdom for other women aiming to kick ass and take names.

Jennifer embarked on her voyage at Columbia University in the concrete jungle of NYC. From there, she danced through the management training program at Nestlé USA and Stouffer Foods in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, learning the ropes in sales, management, and marketing. With a jaw-dropping 11 promotions under her belt in a mere 16 years, she worked her way up to becoming the Director of New Ventures for the Nestle Ice Cream Division. Jennifer was also instrumental in launching the iconic Lean Cuisine in the U.S. and expanding its brand globally from her Swiss HQ.

Leaving the food industry behind, Jennifer took root in the hospitality biz, serving as Vice President of Marketing for Marriott International and managing ad agencies with high-profile clients like Chrysler and numerous healthcare clients. Finally, she dove headfirst into the tech sphere, navigating the waters of business-to-consumer and B2B offerings with Park Place Technology.

Jennifer preaches the gospel of reaching for the stars and never letting anyone, including yourself, feel limited. "The sky is the limit," she says, and with grit and determination, anything is possible. Her top slice of advice? Be the first one in, the last one out, the hardest worker, think creatively, and partner with your teammates to become an unstoppable force.

Jennifer is not just a mentor—she's a friend. She's always on hand to help answer any entrepreneurial questions I throw her way, has opened doors to her network, and brings a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to everything she does. I feel damn lucky to have her in my corner and part of the Gardenuity crew.

Jennifer is Pouring her Time and Energy into the Park Place Technology team, managing a global crew of marketers that serve over 22,000 clients across multiple continents, including Brazil, Singapore, and the U.S. She leads the company's global marketing and communications teams, working tirelessly to reinforce Park Place's lead in the IT marketplace and amplify the innovative offerings they bring to the table.

Jennifer is a firm believer in the importance of striking a balance between work life and passions outside of work, which she deems vital for finding success in both arenas. Gardening is her personal sanctuary and the ultimate stress-buster. Every morning, she starts her day bright and early at 6 a.m., giving her garden the H2O it craves, and by 7 a.m., she's ready to tackle the day head-on. She typically caps off her evenings with a one-to-two-hour workout, showcasing her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and her love for cycling. She's pedaled her bike through almost every state in the U.S. and beyond.

Tragically, Jennifer was diagnosed with lymphoma in March 2020. This life-altering event has given her a renewed drive to support others navigating their cancer journey, as well as to contribute to cancer research. She's gearing up for her next major cycling event, The Pan-Florida Challenge, where she'll tackle a grueling 62-mile bike ride to raise awareness and support for cancer research.

So here's to Jennifer Deutsch, the CMO who's not afraid to kick some ass, mix business with pleasure, and always roll up her sleeves to get the job done. Cheers to the unstoppable women who inspire us all!
