Week 40 of 2023 construction projects
From October 4 to October 7, 2023, there will be significant roadworks and closures on Messplatz. During this period, residents and visitors should expect disruptions in traffic flow and restricted access in that area.
The Messplatz will be fully closed for parking and driving from October 4, 2023, to October 7, 2023, due to essential surface and marking works. One of the two lanes in each direction will also be closed during the parapet renewal works.
Concurrently, the parapet edge of the east exit of the Market Square underground garage will be renewed from October 4, 2023, to approximately Monday, October 23. A spot concrete repair will also be carried out on the wall head as part of the parapet renewal. Notably, the parapet renewal will take place while the exit is still in operation.
These works are considered essential and are scheduled to be completed by October 7, 2023, weather permitting. However, short-term closures of the east exit of the Market Square underground garage are possible during the works.
It's important to note that the renewal works on the parapet edge and spot concrete repair are not subject to weather conditions like the Messplatz works. Moreover, these works are separate from the essential surface and marking works on the Messplatz.
If you plan to travel or park around Messplatz or the Market Square garage during these dates, it’s advisable to seek alternative routes or parking options due to these ongoing works.
