First things first, download the latest Excel sheet template (v3.3) from the Bulk Import page on our website dashboard. There are some important changes to take note of, including:
- Fixed field validations for error-free uploads
- A help sheet bursting with support links
- Updated BISAC sheet
- New sheet and column for adult content types
- Support for Latin transcripts
- Acceptance of MOBI files and EPUB sample files
Using the older Excel version is still acceptable when uploading books in bulk, but we highly recommend the newest template. Whenever possible, expand on your book's metadata, as it plays a vital role in your publishing business by ensuring accurate categorization and enhancing discoverability.
Adult Content Types: Extra shout-out for those publishing adult content, as we've added much-needed fields for a variety of subtypes to keep you on top of trends.
Latin Transcripts: If a book has non-Latin characters like Cyril, Chinese, or Arabic in the title, subtitle, or contributor data, we advise providing Latin transcripts. Some stores like Barnes & Noble can only process Latin transcripts for specific metadata.
Whether you're updating metadata or uploading new ebooks, the process is the same: simply drop the new Excel or ONIX file onto our platform. Just make sure to include ISBNs to identify existing titles, and then fill out only the fields you'd like to update. Keep other fields as they are to ensure no changes are made.
