UK MoD Awards £19.68M Contract to SixWorks for NEXUS to Core Air Information Platform
The Ministry of Defence has awarded a £19.68 million contract to SixWorks for the NEXUS to Core (N2C) Air Information Platform (AIP). This move aims to sustain and grow the cloud-based platform, ensuring its long-term development and integration with allied networks.
The AIP, a fundamental component of the NEXUS architecture, delivers integrated solutions for secure processing, connectivity, and data management. It provides aircrews with decision superiority by connecting sensors and effectors across domains. The platform underpins interoperability within the RAF and across UK services, integrating with programmes like Army ZODIAC and Navy StrikeNet.
The NEXUS programme consists of five mutually dependent work packages, with the AIP being essential to delivering the overall capability. The contract aims to maintain the existing infrastructure and grow the platform by onboarding new information sources and expanding to allied universal networks. This aligns with NEXUS' goal to enable a single data layer for generating a common operating picture for allied forces, supporting NATO's Data Fabric and the US Air Force's Advanced Battle Management System.
The Ministry of Defence's £19.68 million contract with SixWorks ensures the sustained growth and development of the N2C AIP. This investment supports interoperability, decision-making, and shared situational awareness across UK and allied forces.
