Trustees of Bristol Law Centre Shifted to ARAG Law Solicitors
In a significant move to support vulnerable communities in the South West of England, solicitors Allison Lewis and William Ellerton from ARAG Law have been appointed to the board of trustees of the Bristol Law Centre. The appointments, which are for an initial four-year term, will see the duo contribute their extensive legal expertise to the charity's mission of providing free legal advice and representation for social welfare issues.
Allison Lewis, the Head of Employment at ARAG Law, has been with the firm since 2013 and became a partner in 2016. Her expertise lies in employment law, a field she honed during her tenure with Pollecoff Solicitors and Lyons Davidson. William Ellerton, the Head of Complex Litigation, joined ARAG Law as a partner in 2017. Prior to this, he specialised in financial services disputes and litigation, having worked at DAC Beachcroft, Bevans, and Eversheds.
The appointments come as ARAG strengthens its relationship with the Bristol Law Centre, having worked with the charity for over two years across fundraising and practical activities. ARAG's CEO, David Haynes, expressed his delight at the appointments, stating that they will help extend access to justice to those beyond the reach of ARAG's insurance products.
Karen Bowers, Chief Executive of Bristol Law Centre, is equally pleased with the appointments. She believes that the expertise brought by Allison and William will significantly benefit the team and further the centre's mission.
This development comes at a time when ARAG is making significant strides in its UK operations. David Haynes has been appointed as CEO of ARAG UK Holdings Limited and ARAG Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited, and will lead the business in the United Kingdom, officially assuming his new role in April. The integration of the DAS UK brand into ARAG's business has also been completed, and ARAG now has its own insurance company, ARAG Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited.
With these strategic moves, ARAG continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities and ensuring access to justice for all.
Allison Lewis and William Ellerton, with their extensive experience in employment law and financial services respectively, will bring their skills from ARAG Law's business operations to the Bristol Law Centre's mission of providing free legal advice, helping extend access to justice to vulnerable communities in the South West of England.
The appointments of Allison Lewis and William Ellerton to the Bristol Law Centre's board of trustees also coincides with ARAG's strategic finance moves, including the integration of the DAS UK brand into ARAG's business and the establishment of ARAG Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited, signifying their unwavering commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities and ensuring access to justice for all.
