From July 21 to August 3, 2025, several changes will be made to the tram and bus services in Halle Neustadt as a result of the ongoing CITY RAIL project.

The most significant change will affect tram lines 2, 9, and 10, which will temporarily end at S-Bahnhof Neustadt. During this period, no streetcars will run to the Schwimmhalle stop in Halle Neustadt. Tram line 16, however, will be detoured via Joliot-Curie-Platz and Am Steintor to Friesenstraße.

In addition to the tram changes, bus line 21 will end at S-Bahnhof Neustadt instead of Am Bruchsee, and bus line 42 will serve the connection between Schwimmhalle and Am Bruchsee. A replacement bus service (SEV 2) will run from the bus stop S-Bahnhof Neustadt (platform D), ensuring the connection between Göttinger Bogen and Soltauer Straße.

Traffic restrictions for individual vehicles will remain in effect until the end of August 2025. Cars can pass the construction site in single file during this period.

The CITY RAIL project is underway for a new turnaround track at the Schwimmhalle stop in Halle Neustadt. Construction work is expected to continue until the end of August 2025, with completion by the end of the month.

After August 3, 2025, streetcars will resume service in Neustadt. Buses will continue to serve the Schwimmhalle, Neustadt stop in an off-peak manner.
