TIMco & Bees In Our Community Team Up to Save Honeybees in Cheshire
TIMco, a prominent UK wholesaler to the construction industry, has teamed up with Bees In Our Hives, a local bee conservation organization based in Northwich, Cheshire. The partnership is part of TIMco's commitment to sustainability and supporting nearby communities.
TIMco has generously donated over 25,000 screws and supplied wood to aid in the construction of beehives for the charity. Bees In Our Hives, in turn, offers free 'loans' of beehives and honeybees to homeowners, landowners, and farmers, with many hives situated near TIMco's headquarters. Karl Colyer of Bees In Our Hives praised TIMco's support, highlighting that every contribution helps in their mission to protect honeybees.
TIMco has committed to supplying all fixing needs and has also contributed to the redesign of hives using recycled timber from pallets. The concept for the redesign was developed by the artist collective Assemble. The goal is to place over 300 hives in the local community, using native honeybees that are well-adapted to Cheshire's weather and forage.
TIMco's support for Bees In Our Hives aligns with Chester's #BEEfriendlyChester campaign, aiming to make Chester the most bee-friendly city in the UK. Simon Midwood, TIMco's Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about supporting Bees In Our Hives and plans to have hives on TIMco's land in the future.
