In the latest city council meeting in Oberviechtach, Germany, a significant discussion took place regarding the cemetery fee structure and the proposal to increase fees. However, due to a lack of available information about the current fee structure and the council's voting outcome on the proposed increase, specific details remain elusive.

The cemetery fee ordinance and funeral fees are set to be discussed at the upcoming December meeting, providing an opportunity for the public and council members to delve deeper into the matter.

Mayor Heinz Weigl has stated that the annual review of costs and fees for the water supply in Oberviechtach is being conducted diligently. Meanwhile, the current water price has been deemed appropriate by tax consultant Franz Eckl.

The council's decision on the cemetery fee increase proposal is not yet clear, but it is known that the vote was close, with the new ordinance passing by a narrow margin of 9:8. The CSU/CWG/Aktive faction does not support the increase, while the PWG/SPD/JW faction has expressed agreement with the administration's proposal.

If the administration's proposal is accepted, a single grave would cost €679.50 for 15 years, an increase of 50 cents from the previous year's fees. However, if the most favourable calculation basis is used, a single grave could cost €820.

In other city business, the main and finance committee recommended that the city council keep the tax rates for 2015 unchanged. This resolution was passed unanimously by the council. The basic tax rates A and B remain at 310 percent, while the trade tax remains at 320 percent.

The water supply in Oberviechtach also had a discussion point, with the photovoltaic sector showing a balance sheet total of €2,908,354.38 and an annual loss of €25,803.89. Despite this loss, the cash position of the water supply is in order, and the loss falls within the usual range.

The setting of the tax rates for real estate taxes in 2015 is a fixed part of the December meeting, where further details about the cemetery fee structure may also be revealed.

  1. The main and finance committee has recommended maintaining the tax rates for 2015, while a new discussion about the cemetery fee structure, including funeral finances, is expected in the upcoming December meeting.
  2. Though the current water price has been considered appropriate, the administration's proposal to increase the fee for a single grave in the cemetery is a point of contention, with the decision yet to be clear.
