The B444 has suspended operations from Monday onwards.
The B444 road between Hoheneggelsen and Bettrum is set for renovation from Monday, July 28, to Wednesday, July 30. During this period, the road will be closed for the duration of the work.
The regional authority for road construction and traffic has announced these changes in a press release. Drivers in Klein Himstedt and Hoheneggelsen will need to follow a detour route to travel between these locations.
Here's a breakdown of the detour routes:
- Drivers in Klein Himstedt traveling to Bettrum will take the detour onto Himstedter Landstraße (L474) to the right.
- Drivers in Hoheneggelsen heading towards Bettrum will detour by exiting the B1 and joining Bahnhofstraße (L474) to the right.
- Drivers traveling in the opposite direction should use the detour route in reverse.
The renovation work involves removing approximately 1,300 square meters of the top asphalt layers. The regional authority aims to complete the measure as quickly as possible, but delays may occur in case of bad weather during the renovation.
Upon completion of the work on Wednesday, the road will be reopened. For the exact detour route and any additional details such as timing or impact on specific lanes, you may want to check local traffic announcements or the relevant transport authority's website closer to or during the closure dates.
We advise drivers to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time during this period. Stay informed and safe on the roads!
- The regional authority is seeking funding from the finance industry to support the significant renovation of the B444 road, with the aim of modernizing the transportation infrastructure in the region.
- As a result of the B444 road renovation, there may be implications on local transportation systems and logistics, potentially affecting various industries that heavily rely on land transportation.
