Tesla provides complimentary paint modifications for Model 3 Performance vehicles in the United States.

In a bid to boost sales before the expiration of the federal electric vehicle (EV) tax credit, Tesla is offering a range of incentives for its Model 3 Performance variant in the United States.

The full $7,500 federal EV tax credit for the Tesla Model 3 Performance will expire on September 30, 2025. This deadline was accelerated by the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" signed into law on July 4, 2025. Buyers who purchase a qualifying Model 3 Performance before this date can still claim up to $7,500 in federal tax credit reduction.

To entice potential buyers, Tesla is offering free paint color options on new Model 3 Performance orders. This move brings every Model 3 Performance EV configuration under the threshold to qualify for the full federal EV tax credit.

The Model 3 Performance, with a 0-60 mph time as low as 2.9 seconds, features Tesla's most powerful Performance drive unit to date, delivering over 500 horsepower. The interior includes ventilated sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and upgraded materials throughout the cabin, underscoring a premium performance focus.

Moreover, the Model 3 Performance variant comes with 18 months of free Supercharging on cash purchases, and 0% APR financing for 60 months is available when also purchasing Full Self-Driving (Supervised) with a Model 3 purchase.

Tesla is aggressively promoting across its lineup to boost sales while the EV credit is still available. The Model 3 Performance features redesigned front and rear fascias, a carbon fiber spoiler, and a new rear diffuser for enhanced aerodynamics and high-speed stability. It also boasts an adaptive damping system and updated Track Mode for improved handling and cornering.

These incentives are part of a push to spur deliveries before the expiration date. With the federal EV tax credit expiring soon, potential buyers are encouraged to act quickly if they wish to avail themselves of the tax credit.
