Rivan Industries Unveils Plans for Clean Energy Project in the UK

Rivan Industries, a leading innovator in the clean energy sector, has announced plans for the Little Rose Lane Energy Park, an ambitious project aimed at producing synthetic fuel through a combination of green hydrogen and carbon capture technologies. The proposed site is located north of Blunsdon and southeast of Cricklade.

The Little Rose Lane Energy Park will generate renewable energy through a mix of solar power and synthetic fuel generators. Up to 15 megawatts of solar power will be harnessed, along with up to 10 synthetic fuel generators. These generators will produce synthetic fuel by reacting green hydrogen, created through renewable energy-powered electrolysis, with captured carbon dioxide.

This innovative approach to fuel production reduces overall carbon emissions by reusing CO2 instead of releasing it into the atmosphere. The synthetic fuel, which works just like natural gas, will be injected directly into the UK's existing energy grid, offering a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Rivan Industries is committed to protecting local wildlife, habitats, and tranquillity as the project progresses. The company has launched a public consultation for the Little Rose Lane Energy Park to gather feedback on how the community benefit fund could best serve the area. Consultation feedback will directly inform how the site is designed, built, and managed, including measures to minimize noise, protect biodiversity, and keep traffic impacts low.

Harvey Hodd, Founder & CEO of Rivan Industries, expressed his excitement about the project, stating, "At Little Rose Lane, we are turning carbon from the air into clean, usable fuel and proving that net zero can be practical, affordable, and community-powered." He further added, "The challenge is global, but the solution starts local."

The public consultation for the Little Rose Lane Energy Park is open from Wednesday 2 April to Thursday 1 May 2025. An in-person drop-in event will take place at Highworth Community Centre on Thursday 24 April. The technology is already being trialled at the Science and Innovation Park near Wroughton.

Rivan Industries views the Little Rose Lane Energy Park as the next step in scaling a homegrown solution with global potential. The project promises to produce a fossil-free gas with no need for fuel deliveries, no long-distance shipping, and minimal local traffic impacts.
