A7 Motorway to Shutdown over Construction of Sign Bridge
Motorists travelling on the A7 motorway near the Feuchtwangen/Crailsheim junction should prepare for significant disruptions on Wednesday overnight. The Federal Motorway Company announced full closures in both directions due to the installation of a new sign bridge.
Beginning at 10:00 PM in the direction of Ulm, the closure will persist until approximately 2:00 AM. Meanwhile, in the direction of Würzburg, the route will be impassable from 10:45 PM until midnight.
Motorists are advised to utilize diversion routes during the closure. Those travelling from Fulda towards Ulm will be guided via diversion U86 onto the A6, then the Crailsheim interchange, and finally to the Feuchtwangen-West interchange. The reverse diversion will lead motorists back to the A7 from the Feuchtwangen-West interchange.
Moreover, those wishing to travel from the A6 onto the A7 in the direction of Ulm will also be affected by the closures. Motorists coming from Nuremberg will be directed via U86 to the Crailsheim interchange, while those from Heilbronn will be diverted via U33 to the Feuchtwangen-West interchange.
Diversion signs will be clearly marked as "Umleitung" (diversion). Motorists should be cautious when relying on navigation apps, as they may not always reflect official diversion routes. Additionally, local roads may experience heavier traffic, so allow extra time for your journey.
