Stock 2025 Corvette ZR1 Outpaces Chevy's Recorded 0 to 60 MPH Speed

In a demonstration by Car and Driver, the latest Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 proved its remarkable speed by accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in an astonishing 2.2 seconds, making it the swiftest rear-wheel-drive vehicle the publication has ever tested. This pace eclipses that of the McLaren 750S by a tenth of a second.

The Corvette ZR1 boasts an impressive 1,064 horsepower, propelling it to outperform the McLaren 750S, which is listed at 740 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Despite the McLaren's lighter weight, the Corvette ZR1’s Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R ZPs (345mm wide at the rear) provided superior traction, enabling it to outperform the McLaren on the drag strip.

Car and Driver reported that the ZR1 completed the quarter-mile in 9.5 seconds at 149 mph, against the 750S's time of 9.8 seconds at 145 mph. Moreover, the McLaren was a second slower to reach 150 mph than the Corvette, with a top speed of 206 mph, while the ZR1 can attain up to 233 mph.

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1's superiority on the track is likely to continue as it takes on drag strips and road courses across the country. While the vehicle's starting price of $175,000 may not be cheap, it offers a considerable value compared to the McLaren 750S's price range of $325,000 and up, making it the current pinnacle of the Corvette lineup.
