Stefan Bomhard takes on the role of non-executive director within Flutter company
Flutter Entertainment, a globally renowned online sports betting and iGaming operator, has announced a new addition to its Board of Directors. Stefan Bomhard, currently the CEO and Executive Director at Imperial Brands, will join Flutter's Board effective from October 1, 2025.
Bomhard brings decades of experience to Flutter's Board, having held senior-level roles at several leading companies. Prior to his tenure at Imperial Brands, he worked at Procter & Gamble, Unilever Food Solutions Europe, Diageo plc (Burger King), and Bacardi Limited.
The new appointment follows an extended search, and Bomhard's extensive experience in leading teams and overseeing growth and expansion made him an ideal candidate. He is known for his expertise in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales, and marketing of well-known consumer brands.
John Bryant, Flutter's Chair of the Board, expressed his excitement about the latest appointment, praising Bomhard's impressive track record.
Stefan Bomhard was also recognized as an independent director in accordance with the standards set out by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Bomhard's departure from Imperial Brands was announced earlier, with him set to step down from his CEO role effective from September 30, 2025. He will, however, retain his current non-executive director role at Compass Group plc.
The announcement comes at a time when Flutter Entertainment is celebrating the excellent performance of its subsidiary, FanDuel, as highlighted in its Q2 financial results. The company posted nearly $4.2bn in revenue in August.
Bomhard will vacate the Executive Director position at Imperial Brands on December 31, 2025, before officially joining Flutter's Board of Directors.
