South Korea's New Envoy Vows to Strengthen U.S. Ties, Tackle Trade Issues
South Korea's new envoy to the U.S., Kim Jung-kwan, has vowed to tackle trade and other bilateral issues. The pledge came after a meeting with U.S. officials in Washington on August 25, 2022.
Kim, who serves as the Industry Minister, met with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick during his visit. The details of their discussion remain confidential, but it's known that they addressed trade and other bilateral matters. Kim also held a separate meeting with the U.S. Trade Representative, although the name of the U.S. official is not publicly available.
