"Social Security payments suspended for the week of May 2025"
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced some changes to the payment schedule for May 2025. This month will mark one of the latest payment schedules for Social Security this year.
Retirees, disability beneficiaries, widows, and veterans will receive their next disbursement on May 14, 2025. However, due to special adjustments made by the SSA, there will be two checks in May 2025 instead of the usual one.
SSI recipients will receive their second check of the month on May 30, 2025, an early deposit compared to the regular June 2025 date.
The total number of SSA disbursements in May 2025 is six. The SSA has not specified a reason for the delayed payments, but if a payment does not arrive within three business days of the scheduled date, the SSA recommends contacting them via phone, visiting a local office, or checking updates at ssa.gov.
For those who started collecting benefits before May 1997, their checks were delivered earlier than usual, on May 2, 2025.
