Sochi's Social Housing Project: Two Buildings Up, Four More Coming by 2027
Sochi has started a major social housing project. Two buildings have already been constructed on Dobraya and Timiryazev Streets. The contractor is now demolishing old foundations and building retaining walls. Four more buildings are planned, with two on Vishneva and Chekhov Streets, and a 100-unit apartment block in the Makarenko microdistrict. The project aims to resolve the issue of dilapidated housing in the city.
The construction company is currently working on a large site, approximately 3,500 square meters. They have begun preparing the area for the new buildings. The initial phase involves demolishing the old foundation to make way for the new structures. Once complete, the contractor will start constructing frames for retaining walls to ensure stability.
The project is not limited to the two already built structures. Plans are in place to construct two more buildings on Vishneva and Chekhov Streets. Completion is expected in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Additionally, a new social apartment building with 100 units is being constructed in the Makarenko microdistrict on Vishneva Street. The name of the construction company working on this part of the project is not publicly available.
