Recently, Baltimore-based media giant Sinclair, Inc. bid farewell to a long-time leader in the broadcasting industry - Dave Schwartz. Effective June 30, Schwartz will hang up his boots and enter a well-deserved retirement.
Schwartz, a key player in Sinclair's operations for over two decades, has been a towering figure since he ascended to the role of Corporate Senior Vice President/Station Operations in 2007.
Schwartz started his Sinclair journey back in 2004, taking charge as the general manager of WSMH-TV in Flint, Michigan. Over his tenure, he swiftly emerged as a strategic and influential voice within the company. Schwartz's influence is evident in Sinclair's operational strategy, as he positioned the company for growth, innovation, and transformation.
As the COO and President of Local Media, Rob Weisbord, put it, "For over 20 years, Dave has been an exceptional leader, a trusted colleague, and a driving force behind our station operations." Prior to Sinclair, Schwartz held the position of Vice President of Sales at WRBW-TV in Orlando. He also spent over a decade serving as Senior Vice President and Director of Sales at Seltel national rep firm. Schwartz kicked off his media sales career in 1979 with Petry Media.
