Significant Discovery Unearthed by Asante Gold at AboduaboSite

Fresh Take:

Pack your pickaxes, folks! Asante Gold's stirring up a gold rush in the Sefwi greenstone belt of Western-North Region. They've stumbled upon a potential gold vein at the Aboduabo prospect near the Bibiani-Chirano corridor that's looking mighty fine for open-pit mining.

According to their latest drilling results, every hole they've sunk in the area has picked up signs of gold. One of the new intercepts even boasts a whopping 43.10 meters of gold-laden rock. The gold content in this area is estimated to be 3.07 grammes per tonne, with a richer section of 9.95 meters packing a punchy 6.85 grammes per tonne.

Several areas with gold-bearing rock have a suitable grade and width for open-pit mining, Asante sings the praises in a recent statement to investors. Their discovery footprint spans over 1km, with plenty of room for expansion, as gold's presence remains undiscovered below the surface and beyond the current boundaries.

Dave Anthony, President of Asante Gold, gets pretty pumped about the news: "This deposit is a goldmine—literally! It's close to the surface, mineralized over an area up to 130m wide and 1km long. We're accelerating our drilling program to define this target. Let's just say, this shows some serious exploration potential."

The Sefwi Greenstone Belt is no stranger to golden riches, with historical mining operations like the Bibiani and Chirano mines having produced over 8 million ounces of gold. Asante has grips on a 53km-long and up to 5km-wide gold-rich corridor that's sandwiched between the Bibiani and Chirano shear zones. The Aboduabo prospect lies about 5km north of the Chirano plant and 10km south of the Bibiani plant.

Asante's not stopping there—they're constantly on the hunt for new discoveries to fuel their mine and nearby resources, aiming to extend the life of both operations. They currently operate the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines, with forecasted production reaching approximately 400,000 ounces of gold in 2023.

They're also putting their boots on the ground at their Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects, searching high and low for more gold. All these projects are adjacent or along the same gold-laden veins as major mines in the heart of Ghana's Golden Triangle.

Asante's initial exploration results came to light on January 17, 2023. In total, they've drilled 19 holes reaching a total depth of 4,300m. They've accelerated their drilling program and new intercepts confirm near-surface, high-grade mineralization with increased widths. The gold mineralization remains open along strike and to depth, leaving plenty of room for more discoveries.

Now that you're all caught up, keep an eye on Asante Gold. They're moving fast to uncover the secrets of the Sefwi Greenstone Belt, and who knows what they'll dig up next?
