Signature of Paphos Marina Project Imminent for the Year 2027
The picturesque harbor of Agios Georgios in Peyia played host to the 1st Fish Festival, an event significant for the Deputy Ministry's tourism strategy. The festival, held on Sunday, offered attendees a taste of fresh, local fish and a live music program, including a performance by Greek singer Giorgos Tsalikis.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, spoke at the event, describing the venue as a historic location with a longstanding role in maritime trade since ancient times. He also expressed his belief that the forthcoming Paphos Marina project will enrich the tourism offering of the Akamas Municipality and Paphos district.
The Paphos Marina project, one of Cyprus's largest tourism infrastructure projects, is scheduled to take place in the Potima area of the Kissonerga region near the city of Paphos. The Ministry of Tourism is directly responsible for implementing this ambitious project, which is expected to be signed in January 2027.
Mayor of Akamas, Marinos Lambrou, aims to establish the Fish Festival as an annual tradition, further cementing the region's commitment to tourism and local culture. The Ministry of Tourism is currently cooperating with the newly established Akamas Municipality to ensure the success of both the festival and the Paphos Marina project.
The Paphos Marina project tender has been officially launched, marking a significant step forward in the development of this tourism infrastructure. Once completed, it is expected to significantly boost tourism in the region and contribute to Cyprus's economy.
The largest tourism infrastructure project in Cyprus, the Paphos Marina, will be constructed in the Kissonerga region, bringing a new era of tourism to the beautiful island.
