In a significant move for the logistics industry, Munich-based startup Filics has secured €13.5 million in funding to further develop its innovative transport robots and expand internationally. This financing round, led by Bayern 2 growth fund of Bayern Kapital, marks an important milestone for the young company on its path to scaling its technology.

The funding received significant support from Bayern Kapital, which views Filics as a relevant investment due to the target market's significant growth potential. Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, commented that the Filics Unit automates processes, reduces warehouse staff workload, and is a significant advancement for intralogistics.

The development of the Filics Unit is driven by the growing demand for more efficient logistics solutions due to expanding supply chains and online commerce. The product, already in use by several industrial and logistics companies in Germany, consists of two mechanically independent, flat robots that can move under, lift, and move Euro pallets or Euro mesh boxes. The robots' omnidirectional drive allows them to move in all directions, and they only require the space of the pallet itself, efficiently utilizing tight spaces in warehouses.

Monika Steger, Managing Director of Bavaria Capital, finds Filics' transport robots attractive due to their unique flat and compact design, maneuverability in tight spaces, and operational benefits for intralogistics. Gregor Kolls, co-founder and CEO of Filics, is pleased with the investors' confidence in their autonomous intralogistics solutions.

The fresh capital will be used to further develop Filics' solutions and expand into new markets, including European markets in 2026. The product portfolio is expected to be expanded to include additional application scenarios in logistics by the end of 2025.

Modern transport and logistics robots, like those developed by Filics, typically include features such as autonomous navigation, adaptive decision-making, integration with logistics networks, scalability, and modularity. These robots minimise human intervention, reduce downtime, adapt to complex environments, and offer cost and time efficiency.
