Road sections of the A10 highway are temporarily shut down due to the destruction of an aging bridge.
The Berliner Ring (A10) will be closing this weekend for a demolition and reconstruction project, as announced by the Traffic Control Center Berlin. The closure will affect traffic between Dreieck Werder and Groß Kreutz and will be in effect from 5 PM on Saturday until 5 AM on Monday.
The closure is necessary due to the demolition of a damaged bridge, which was built in 1937. The new bridge will be constructed on the same site, as part of the closure plan. The coordination of the dismantling and reconstruction of the bridge on the A10 is managed by the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes' Bridge Competence Center (Brückenkompetenzzentrum), which oversees nationwide bridge modernization and construction projects for federal highways.
During the closure, traffic will be maintained with certain restrictions. The Traffic Information Center has provided details about the demolition and construction, and motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly. The western Berliner Ring (A10) will be inaccessible in both directions during the closure, and the Traffic Control Center Berlin has reported the closure.
The Autobahn GmbH des Bundes' Bridge Competence Center ensures that the construction of the new bridge will proceed efficiently and safely. The new bridge will be built on the site of the demolished one, and the closure will take place between Dreieck Werder and Groß Kreutz.
Motorists are reminded to exercise caution and patience during this time, as the closure will cause some disruption to traffic on the Berliner Ring (A10). The closure is a necessary step in the modernization of the A10, and the new bridge will provide a safer and more efficient route for years to come.
