Deccan Grainz India, the leading non-basmati rice brand in the US market, has made a significant stride in its international expansion by entering the Chinese market in 2025 [1][2]. This move adds China, a major rice producer and consumer, to its existing portfolio of export destinations that includes Sweden, the UK, Germany, Ireland, London, the US, Canada, Australia, the EU, and Turkey.

In its 15-year long journey, Deccan Grainz India has sold more than 7 crore bags of rice abroad, primarily comprising 30 varieties of Indian rice, with Sona Masuri accounting for 60% of total sales [1][2]. The company operates a modern, Japanese technology-powered rice processing plant near Hyderabad with a monthly capacity of 5,500 metric tonnes and employs around 100 people [1].

Kiran Kumar Pola, Director of Deccan Grainz India, noted that the company is the only South Indian rice brand with such a widespread international presence. He expressed his excitement about the company's entry into the Chinese market, stating that it is a significant milestone for the company [1][2].

Looking ahead, Deccan Grainz India plans to launch domestically in early 2026. Kiran Kumar emphasized that although the company has already achieved success abroad, it is now ready to "win at home," signalling a strategic focus on expanding its presence within India after establishing its global brand [1][2].

In summary, Deccan Grainz India is strategically broadening its international reach while preparing to consolidate its position in the Indian market shortly. With its extensive experience, diverse product range, and advanced processing capabilities, the company is poised for continued success both domestically and abroad.
