Retail giant, Bim, plans to launch 550 additional locations in Egypt by 2026, allocating a substantial $40 million for its growth and expansion.

Retail giant Bim planning to establish 550 new outlets in Egypt over the next six years, committing a $40 million investment for expansion.

In a significant move to strengthen its presence in Egypt, retail giant Bim has announced plans to open 550 new stores across the country by the end of 2026, bringing the total number of stores to 1,000[1]. This expansion involves a total investment of $40 million, with half of the amount ($20 million) already invested, and the remaining $20 million expected to be injected in early 2026[1].

The company's expansion focuses particularly on Upper Egypt governorates, moving beyond major cities to serve regional communities. For instance, Bim recently opened 10 new branches in Beni Suef governorate as part of this strategy[1].

Significant investments in logistics infrastructure are also part of Bim's plans. The company has acquired a 46,000-square-meter area in 10th of Ramadan City (near Greater Cairo) for two logistics warehouses to serve Greater Cairo and the Canal governorates, with expected investments exceeding 1 billion Egyptian pounds (~$20.62 million)[1].

Moreover, Bim plans to build two logistics zones in Upper Egypt (Minya and Beni Suef), each covering around 40,000 square meters, with combined investments of $20 million. The Beni Suef logistics zone will support all Upper Egypt governorates, including Assiut, Sohag, and Aswan, creating an integrated logistics network for southern Egypt[1].

This expansion is part of Bim's commitment to strengthen its presence in promising regions of Egypt, support the local economy, contribute to regional development, and create new job opportunities[1]. The logistics zones are also part of Bim's strategy to establish an integrated logistics support network covering southern Egypt.

It is worth noting that Turkey is also making significant investments in Egypt, with Turkey building the largest porcelain factory in Egypt with a $100 million investment[4]. However, Egypt has not been explicitly confirmed to join Turkey's 5th-generation KAAN fighter jet program in this article.
