Restructuring Leadership in AGI's Key Investment Portfolio
In a significant move, Allianz Global Investors (AGI) has announced new co-leads for three of its key funds: the Allianz American Income, Allianz US Equity Plus, and Allianz US High Yield. As of March 2022, these funds collectively manage around $19 billion in assets.
The new co-leads, Andrew Rodgers and Eric Schultz, bring a wealth of experience to their roles. Andrew Rodgers, CFA, joined AGI in 1997 and has extensive experience in US equities and high yield sectors. Eric Schultz joined AGI in 2001, with expertise in corporate credit and income strategies.
Rodgers and Schultz's collaboration as co-leads is aimed at enhancing performance and risk management across these U.S.-focused equity and high yield funds.
Meanwhile, Justin Kass and William Stickney are set to take on expanded roles within AGI. Kass, who has been a portfolio manager at AGI for 22 years, will succeed Douglas Forsyth as the chief investment officer of the Allianz Income and Growth (ISIN: LU0820561818) fund. Stickney, who has been with AGI since 1999, will serve as co-lead with Kass for the Allianz Income and Growth fund.
Kass and Stickney, both of whom have been with AGI for over 20 years, will also oversee nine additional funds, including the Allianz US Equity Plus (ISIN: LU1377964140) and the Allianz US High Yield (ISIN: LU0516397667). As of May's end, the Allianz Income and Growth fund manages €28.5 billion, while the total managed assets of the funds they will oversee is around €50 billion.
Douglas Forsyth is leaving AGI after 27 years of service. Kass previously served as a portfolio manager at Nicholas Applegate Capital Management, while Stickney's previous role was managing bond fund sales at ABN Amro until 1998.
This restructuring at AGI is part of a larger strategy to strengthen its investment management capabilities and deliver better outcomes for its clients.
