Restrictions on Kids' Wardrobe Enforced in Belarus

======================================================================

The State Standardization Body has announced the ban on certain products of the clothing brand Gloria Jeans intended for children in the country. The decision comes after it was found that these products failed to meet air permeability and hygroscopicity standards.

The banned products include a variety of items such as jackets, blouses, skirts, sets of socks, underwear, and a cap for boys, and a sweater, skirt, and underwear for girls, all from the Gloria Jeans brand. Additionally, clothing for boys under the Gee Jay brand was also banned due to not meeting air permeability norms. A cap and three types of jackets from the Gee Jay brand for boys were also found to be non-compliant.

The manufacturers of the banned products are yet to be identified, but it is known that some of them are based in Bangladesh, Vietnam, and China. The import and sale of these banned products are prohibited starting from September 15.

It is worth noting that no specific information was provided about the hygroscopicity of the Gloria Jeans boys' clothing or the Gee Jay girls' clothing. The hygroscopicity of a material refers to its ability to absorb and release water vapour, and it is an important factor in clothing comfort and durability.

The air permeability of a material is another crucial factor in clothing comfort. It refers to the ability of air to pass through the material, and it is essential for heat regulation and moisture management. The banned Gloria Jeans and Gee Jay products failed to meet these standards.

This ban is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of children in the country. Parents are advised to check the labels of their children's clothing to ensure they are not purchasing any of the banned products. The authorities have also promised to take strict action against any retailers found selling the banned products after the ban comes into effect.
