Replace Trains with Buses on Multiple Routes - Limited Service on Certain Lines - Replacement of Buses with Trains - Limitation on Multiple Train Lines
Construction works are causing disruptions to train travel in southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Here's a breakdown of the affected routes and the alternative arrangements for passengers.
The Gäubahn, which runs from Stuttgart to Switzerland, will experience disruptions from 10 pm Friday until 2:30 am Monday. Passengers on this line will have to switch to buses between Oberndorf am Neckar and Rottweil. Buses will also be used as a replacement between Engen/Singen and Constance.
Passengers are asked to switch to trains operated by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) between Engen/Singen and Constance. Buses will run between Oberndorf, Rottweil, and Singen during the Gäubahn disruptions.
The Black Forest Railway, connecting Karlsruhe with the Lake Constance city of Constance, will also be affected by construction work until October 17. Trains will not run between Villingen (Black Forest-Baar district) and Donaueschingen during the Black Forest Railway construction.
The Hochrhein Railway, located in the extreme south of Germany, will have disruptions due to overhead line construction. Individual trains will not run between Waldshut station and Erzingen during the construction. The replacement buses between Rottweil and Oberndorf am Neckar during the Gäubahn bridge construction from Friday evening until Monday morning will be provided by Deutsche Bahn.
The electrification of the Hochrhein Railway is expected to end the era of environmentally harmful diesel trains on the route. DB has announced the disruptions and replacements on the Hochrhein Railway, and passengers are advised to check information media for updates. It's important to note that the Hochrhein Railway does not connect to Stuttgart or the Black Forest Railway mentioned earlier.
Passengers are reminded to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel during these disruptions. Buses will be used as a replacement between Villingen and Engen/Singen, and between Engen/Singen and Constance for the Gäubahn and the Black Forest Railway respectively.
