Reduced parking duration tripled in respective areas

In the regional capital, free parking time on municipal lots will now only be available at barricade-free spots. The temporary parking grace period will be reduced from 15 to 5 minutes in an effort to curb drivers abusing the system by employing tricks to avoid paying for parking.

According to the city's transport and road management department, the issue of limited parking spots is particularly pronounced in the city center. The reduction in free parking time aims to discourage drivers from repeatedly utilizing the free period, or from not paying at all when using paid spots.

Notably, the free parking period at lots equipped with barriers will not be impacted, remaining at 15 minutes before and after payment. The changes will take effect following all necessary approvals and the official publication of the decree, as announced by the Krasnodar administration's press service.

On another related note, drivers in Krasnodar have been facing fines for parking on lawns and flower beds. As of now, parking on such areas will stem a compensation fee of 1,000 rubles. It is advised to consult local municipal resources or contact the city's parking management directly for the most accurate and up-to-date details regarding the free parking time in various areas of the city center.

In the city center, where parking spots are scarce, the reduction in free parking time is intended to dissuade drivers from taking advantage of the system in the industry of transportation, particularly in paid spots. Meanwhile, the finance department of the Krasnodar administration has imposed a 1,000 ruble fine for parking on lawns and flower beds in the area of transportation, echoing their efforts to optimize the use of available spaces in the city.
