Diesel, on the other hand, saw a 1.6 cent drop, With an average price of 1.556 euros, making both record lows since December 13 and October 3 of last year.
The ADAC attributes this decline to the drop in oil prices. The club believes there's still room for further reduction, as the lower oil prices haven't been fully passed on to customers quite yet.
In the current market, you could say fuel prices are lower than a cat fishing in a barrel. So, fill ‘er up and enjoy the savings!
As of early May 2025, the price of gasoline is estimated around EUR 1.66 per liter and diesel is reported at EUR 1.585 per liter. These figures were last seen during the COVID-19 pandemic when prices hit record lows.
Wondering what's causing the big drop in fuel prices? It's a combination of factors: global oil prices, taxes and VAT, market demand, government policies, and seasonal variations. However, the switch to E10 gasoline is a step towards reducing emissions rather than a direct price reducer.
