Raytheon's ADVEW Prototype Passes Crucial Review for F/A-18E/F Super Hornet
Raytheon, a subsidiary of RTX, has successfully passed a crucial review of its Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) prototype. This system is designed to enhance the defensive capabilities of the US Navy's F/A‐18E/F Super Hornet aircraft.
The review validated the software development, integration with flight-representative hardware, and alignment with government reference architecture of the ADVEW prototype. Raytheon plans to deliver the system in 2026.
In the coming months, the company will conduct further demonstrations and deliver shipsets for government-run integration testing. This will ensure the ADVEW system is ready for use in the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet's electronic warfare systems.
Dan Theisen, president of advanced products and solutions at Raytheon, expressed satisfaction with the progress made in both hardware and software development.
The successful review of Raytheon's ADVEW prototype marks a significant step towards enhancing the F/A‐18E/F Super Hornet's defensive capabilities and survivability. The company is on track to deliver the system by 2026, following further demonstrations and integration testing.
