Prosecutors consider "RusKinvest" polluted 83,000 square meters of soil in Asino.
A Tale of Tomsk's Dirty Deal:
14th May, Tomsk – RIA Tomsk
The local prosecutor's office has filed a lawsuit against AO "RusKinvest", seeking compensation for polluting approximately 83,000 square meters of land in the Asino District, leased by the company for the development of a forestry complex. According to the prosecutor's estimates, the damage caused exceeds 670 million rubles, as reported by RIA Tomsk on Wednesday.
Previously, it was reported that RusKinvest was implementing an investment project to construct a forestry complex in Asino. Over the past few years, the company has reported losses, and authorities have seized company assets. In 2025, a court ruling, in response to a prosecutor's appeal, ordered the company to return an acreage of over 140 hectares leased from the municipality for the project implementation, as it remained unused.
"It's been discovered that AO 'RusKinvest' leased land in the Asino region for establishing a forestry complex. However, a breach of the lease agreement with the municipality... failure to commence construction works and misuse of the land for storing 83,000 square meters of wood waste, causing damage to the soil. The extent of the damage surpasses 670 million rubles," stated a spokesperson for the agency.
She added that the Asino City Prosecutor's Office of the Tomsk region has demanded RusKinvest compensate for the damage. The lawsuit is under consideration at the Asino City Court.
At the time of writing, the telephone numbers of the company remained unanswered. RIA Tomsk hopes to receive comments later.
