Philanthropic Endeavor by Emirates Endowment Targets Boosting Community Compassion and Progress within UAE
In alignment with the UAE's Year of Community, a new awareness campaign has been launched by Emirates Endowment, a brand introduced by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat. The campaign aims to amplify the reach and impact of Emirates Endowment projects, while also reinforcing the UAE's leadership in innovative philanthropic initiatives.
The new projects, set to be launched across the emirates, will support investment in Waqf assets. These projects are part of Emirates Endowment's strategy to create sustainable, long-term impacts and contribute to the UAE's role as a leader in social responsibility and community development.
The campaign targets a significant increase in community awareness of the Sunnah of Waqf by 80%, and a 10% increase in Waqf revenues compared to last year. The objectives also include enhancing the nation's collective spirit of giving and fostering a culture of charitable contributions.
The completion of these projects is expected to generate additional funds for both existing and new construction projects, with an anticipated AED 233 million for new construction projects. The campaign is also projected to raise a return of AED 150 million from existing endowment projects.
Emirates Endowment aims to solidify the UAE's leadership in developing impactful endowment programs that serve both local and global communities. The new projects are part of Emirates Endowment's efforts to position itself as a preferred and trusted channel for charitable contributions.
Outside of the new campaign, Emirates has been actively involved in humanitarian and charitable efforts. For instance, Emirates has unveiled a new A380 aircraft livery inspired by its charitable foundation, which focuses on providing safe housing, food, medical care, and education for vulnerable children worldwide. The aircraft features children's artwork and the message "Help to support children in need," prominently displayed.
The foundation supports various projects across several countries, including the Emirates-CHES Home for abandoned HIV-positive children and education projects in India and Sri Lanka. The foundation is funded through donations from customers, donors, and employees.
