People are seeking out witnesses for unknown reasons.
In an unusual turn of events, two incidents at Buhl station on Thursday night have resulted in damage to a freight train and a track maintenance vehicle. The extent of the damage to both vehicles is still being determined.
The chain of events began when unknown individuals placed a bicycle on the tracks at the station. According to reports, the bicycle was run over by a freight train, causing damage to the brake cylinder's supply line. This collision subsequently led to damage to the track maintenance vehicle. The damage to the track maintenance vehicle was further compounded by a subsequent collision with the damaged brake cylinder's supply line.
The Federal Police have taken over the investigation into these incidents. Witnesses are asked to contact the Federal Police Inspectorate in Offenburg at 0781/9190-0 with any information regarding the incidents. At present, no suspects have been identified, and there are currently no leads on possible suspects.
The damaged track maintenance building (Wagenhaus des Gleisaufrichters) is operated by Deutsche Bahn. The Federal Police are continuing their investigation into the incidents, and the extent of the property damage in both cases is still being determined.
The incidents at Buhl station have caused disruption to train services, and Deutsche Bahn is working to restore normal operations as soon as possible. The investigation into the incidents is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
