Over 350 businesses in the Kuban region implement economic strategies
In the southwestern region of Russia, Krasnodar Krai, active work within the national project "Labor Productivity" has made significant strides since its inception in 2019. The region has emerged as one of the country's leaders in industrial development efficiency, with over 367 enterprises, mainly from the processing industry, construction sector, and agriculture, joining the project. These enterprises employ over 81,000 people, contributing to an economic effect that exceeded 147 billion rubles.
Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced the implementation of lean production principles on 367 enterprises in the region. This move has been instrumental in solving the problem of a shortage of 86,000 jobs, thanks to process rationalization and employee retraining.
The success of the project in Krasnodar Krai has not gone unnoticed. In 2021, a strategic session "Labor Productivity. From Strategy to Action" was held in the "Senezh" management center in the Moscow region. The event brought together over 200 participants, including representatives of ministries, governors, and businesspeople, to discuss ways to increase labor efficiency and comprehensive productivity management. Systemic solutions for increasing labor efficiency were developed during the session, and approaches to comprehensive productivity management were agreed upon.
Looking ahead, the project "Labor Productivity" is set to expand its reach to include all sectors of the economy, including social institutions, starting from 2025. While detailed specific information about the expansion in Krasnodar Krai is not yet available, the general framework and goals can be outlined.
The federal project aims to enhance workforce efficiency and industrial output through modernization and technology adoption, including automation and digitalization efforts. In other regions, similar programs subsidize the introduction of robotic systems and compensate enterprises for modernization costs, indicating that Krasnodar Krai's expansion may follow suit by offering financial support for automation and advanced production technologies.
The objectives of the expanded project include increasing labor productivity by adopting innovative manufacturing technologies and process optimizations, reducing personnel shortages and skill gaps by training and retaining skilled workers, promoting sustainable and efficient production methods aligned with national strategies aimed at economic competitiveness, and potentially integrating with broader federal efforts.
The expected results of the expanded project include growth in industrial and agricultural output through mechanization and digital tools, improved competitiveness of Krasnodar Krai enterprises nationally and potentially internationally, higher wages and better working conditions due to increased efficiency and reduced manual labor, and improvement in the regional economy’s structural indicators, possibly decreasing the labor productivity gap with more developed regions.
In summary, the expansion of the federal project "Labor Productivity" starting in 2025 will likely focus on technology-driven productivity growth, workforce skills enhancement, and financial support for modernization, aiming to boost the region's economic performance and labor market efficiency in line with federal priorities.
- In the expansion of the federal project "Labor Productivity" from 2025, the focus will be on increasing labor productivity through the adoption of innovative manufacturing technologies and process optimizations within various sectors of the economy, including businesses in Krasnodar Krai.
- To support the modernization and technology adoption efforts in Krasnodar Krai during the expansion of the "Labor Productivity" project, financial incentives such as subsidies for robotic systems and cost compensations for enterprises may be offered, following the approaches seen in other regions.
