Opened in November: New Passenger Center in Nürtingen

Opened in November, the cutting-edge passenger center in Nürtingen.

The Bwegt initiative, a collaborative effort between regional railway companies and partners, is set to revolutionize near and regional traffic for passengers in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The goal of this ambitious project is to double the number of passengers in the Public Passenger Transport (ÖPNV) by 2030.

As part of the Bwegt initiative, 14 passenger centers with personal consultation will be established across the region. One of these centers will be located at Nürtingen station, which is moving to the southeast of the country. The new Bwegt passenger center in Nürtingen is scheduled to open on November 3rd. However, the advisory and sales points at Nürtingen station will be closed from September 20th to November 2nd for renovation works.

During the closure at Nürtingen station, passengers can continue to use the fare machines and digital distribution channels for ticket purchase. Passengers can also purchase tickets through the DB Navigator app and online for long-distance travel. For local and regional transport, they can book trips with a swipe using the state-owned Bwegt app with the digital CiCoBW system (Check-In-Check-Out Baden-Württemberg).

From autumn 2025, ticket sales in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg will be handled by a single provider, Transdev Vertrieb. Transdev Vertrieb will operate the advisory and sales points for the state in a uniform Bwegt design at the 14 passenger centers.

The Bwegt initiative aims to make ÖPNV easier for passengers. In addition to the passenger centers, there will be 123 locations with ticket vending machines and six video passenger centers with personal consultation as part of the new Bwegt initiative.

For questions about the Germany Ticket and intermodal tickets, passengers can contact the local transport associations. The ministry of transport can be contacted via email or a contact form for inquiries related to the Bwegt initiative.

The Bwegt initiative is an overarching initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg for sustainable and climate-friendly mobility. Starting in November 2025, new Bwegt fare machines will be introduced at Nuerningen, Bempflingen, Metzingen, Reutlingen main station, and Tueningen main station. With these changes, the Bwegt initiative is set to significantly improve the travel experience for passengers in the region.
