Ongoing Maintenance: Infrastructure Fixes Along Wellesweiler to Bexbach-Rothmühle Stretch

Starting from Monday, May 15th, 2023, the State Road Authority (LfS) commenced repairing the L 226 road between Wellesweiler (Neunkirchen district) and Bexbach-Rothmühle (Saarpfalz district). Crazy weather delays in July and August threw a wrench in the works, pushing back the project.
Phase 1 - Check! Construction Finished
The initial construction phase—from the L 287 intersection to the middle of the "Industriestraße" intersection, including the fresh bike path connection—is a wrap.
Phase 2 - Still a Work in Progress, Completion Set for September 8th, 2023
Currently, we're in the second phase, which runs from the L 287 intersection to the middle of the "Industriestraße" intersection. This stage involves fixing up the road and bike/pedestrian path headed towards Wellesweiler. The timeline for this phase ends on Friday, September 8th, 2023.
In this phase, motorists from Neunkirchen will be detoured via L 287 to the A8 Neunkirchen-Wellesweiler interchange, onto the A6, and then via B423 and L115 to Bexbach. Traffic moving towards the Autobahn/L287 can flow from Wellesweiler and Bexbach.
Phase 3 - Starting September 11th, 2023 - 75 meters to Go!
From Monday, September 11th, 2023, we transition to the third phase, which starts at the "Industriestraße" intersection and ends about 75 meters before the pedestrian crossing. This phase is slated to be completed by October 6th, 2023.
Be prepared for more traffic hiccups! The State Road Authority (LfS) suggests factoring detours into your travel plans and allowing extra time for commuting.
