Network repair necessitates the closing of Irkutsk Highway in Tomsk in July.
Tomsk, May 22 - RIA Tomsk. In 2025, Tomsk will perform repairs on several streets as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." According to Mayor Dmitry Mahinya, the organization of these works will cause some inconveniences, particularly for the reconstruction of the heating network on Beliy Kun Street in July, which will limit traffic on the Irkutsk Highway for several days.
Previously, it was reported that Tomsk would carry out repairs on its networks in 2025 within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." 111.4 million rubles will be allocated for the maintenance of the heating network on Berengia Street, and an additional 188.3 million will be spent on network repairs in the Irkutsk Highway area: on Ivan Chernykh Street and Beliy Kun Street.
"For the first time in 2025, we will implement the national project 'Infrastructure for Life'... It is clear that in the short term, this will cause inconvenience - closed streets, dug-up sidewalks, but if we do not do this, the situation will only get worse. The wear and tear of the networks is significant, and this leads to a complex of problems: excavations on new roads, prolonged outages. We must endure these repair campaigns, and later deal with the beautification," said Mahinya.
The contractor has promised to complete the repairs on part of Belinsky Street in Tomsk by July. The Irkutsk Highway, being a serious thoroughfare, will be closed for repairs as needed. However, the dates for these closures will be coordinated, and efforts will be made to minimize the length of the closure. Ahead of time, everyone will be informed, and alternative routes, necessary signs, and other measures will be taken to ensure traffic flow, said Mahinya.
Works on the section of Berengia Street as part of the national project have already begun. The company "Remis" is responsible for their execution. According to Alexander Sergeev, the first deputy mayor for urban affairs, the works are on schedule, and initially, disconnections for consumers are not planned.
The national project 'Infrastructure for Life' will not only include repairs on streets in Tomsk, but also investments in the city's heating network, such as on Berengia Street and the Irkutsk Highway area, which includes Ivan Chernykh Street and Beliy Kun Street. To ensure the success of these repairs, there will be temporary closures on the Irkutsk Highway, and the contractor has promised to coordinate these closures to minimize inconvenience, while also setting aside funds for transportation alternatives and traffic flow management.
