Music publishing company Concord seals deal with production duo Tropkillaz
In a significant move for the global music industry, Concord Music Publishing has announced the signing of the Grammy-nominated Brazilian production duo Tropkillaz. This marks Concord's first ever signing out of Brazil, and the deal between Concord's London, New York, and Miami offices covers all new copyrights for Tropkillaz.
Tropkillaz, known for their distinctive fusion of Brazilian baile funk with global electronic sounds, have gained recognition for their innovative remixes and collaborations across various artists and genres. Their work has resonated globally, earning them critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination.
John Woolf and Morgan Gray, of A List Management, are proud to work with Tropkillaz. Adam Salomon, the senior director A&R at Concord Music Publishing UK, has been a long-time fan of Tropkillaz and is excited to officially work with them.
One of Tropkillaz's most notable projects is the production of the song "Chill" by Lisa from Blackpink. They have also made their mark in the K-pop field, working with NCT 127, Aespa, and TXT.
In addition to their collaborations with international artists, Tropkillaz have built a strong catalogue with original Tropkillaz releases while also producing for other artists from across the world, especially in Asia, Latin America, and the US. They have worked with superstar songwriters and producers like Ryan Tedder, Stargate, and Jason Evigan.
Pablo Ahogado, VP A&R, Concord Music Publishing Miami, stated that Tropkillaz's trailblazing creativity, genre-defying global sound, and deep roots in Brazilian music reflect Concord's commitment to creators that drive culture forward.
Tropkillaz recently worked on Karol G's latest album Tropicoqueta, which debuted at No.1 on the Top Latin Albums chart and No.3 on the US albums chart. The song "Perfect", a collaboration with Sam I and BIA (also a Concord writer), gained global attention as the soundtrack for Apple's AirPods campaign.
The duo expressed excitement about joining the Concord family and focusing on creating new music. Big things are anticipated from Tropkillaz's upcoming works.
