News Article: Freiburg Police Apprehend Naked Man in City Centre
On February 19, 2025, a bizarre incident unfolded in the heart of Freiburg city centre. Several emergency calls were made to the authorities at 14:35, reporting a black naked man behaving conspicuously in the city centre.
The press spokesperson for the Police Directorate Freiburg, Michael Schorr, confirmed the incident. The man, aged 28, had previously threatened a neighbour with a knife in an apartment on Entegaststraße. After fleeing the apartment, he made his way to the city centre and was apprehended near the police station.
Upon apprehension, the man knelt on the road and prayed, causing a minor traffic disruption. He was then taken into a holding cell at the police station and appeared to be in a state of psychological distress.
A medical on-call service was called, and they recommended the man be admitted to a psychiatric hospital. The man was subsequently transported to a psychiatric hospital by ambulance, accompanied by the police.
During the transport, the man resisted, resulting in three police officers being lightly injured. Fortunately, no duty disability occurred during the incident.
