Metaplanet's Bitcoin Yield Soars to 309.8% as Holdings Surge
Metaplanet, a leading tech company, has seen its Bitcoin (BTC) yield soar to an impressive 309.8% in late 2024, reflecting a significant increase in its Bitcoin holdings. This surge has strengthened Metaplanet's position among corporate Bitcoin holders.
Metaplanet's Bitcoin portfolio is now valued at $3.6 billion, with an average acquisition price of $108,000 per coin. The company's latest purchase, an additional 5,268 BTC worth $600 million, has boosted its total holdings to 30,823 BTC. This places Metaplanet as the fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder, surpassing the Japanese investment company SBI Holdings, which has been steadily accumulating Bitcoin since April 2024.
Public companies worldwide now hold over 1 million Bitcoin, collectively worth approximately $116 billion. Meanwhile, altcoin-based treasuries are gaining traction, with Ether-based treasuries holding 12.14 million ETH and Solana-based treasuries holding 20.92 million SOL.
Metaplanet's Bitcoin strategy has proven successful, generating an unrealized profit of over 7.5%. With its recent acquisition, the company has solidified its position among the largest corporate Bitcoin holders, demonstrating its commitment to the cryptocurrency market.
