Merck, the renowned German pharmaceutical and chemical company, has announced a new appointment within its ranks. Alex Müller, who has been with the company for over 15 years, has been appointed as the Head of Strategic Policy & Roundtable Initiatives.
The announcement was made by Maike Asmussen, the Chief Political Officer at Merck, in a press release issued by the company. Müller's new role officially begins on January 1, 2023.
Müller was previously the Head of Corporate Strategy & Ventures at Merck. His extensive experience in policy and stakeholder management, as well as his expertise in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, made him an ideal candidate for this new position.
In his new role, Müller will be based in Merck's headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. His responsibilities will include managing and developing dialogue formats, as well as providing strategic direction for industry policy initiatives at Merck.

Prior to his new role, Müller held the position of Senior Director of Public Affairs at Merck. His previous role was in the Global Government Affairs department.

These skills will be crucial in his new role, where he will be responsible for managing and developing dialogue formats.
