Magdeburg Customs Office Reports Record 2024 Achievements

The Main Customs Office in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, has released its annual report for 2024, highlighting significant achievements in various areas. The office, led by an unnamed board head in 2025, processed a substantial number of enforcement orders and conducted numerous inspections.

In 2024, the enforcement department handled a staggering 120,266 orders and requests. Meanwhile, the Financial Control Schwarzarbeit (FKS) team carried out 677 employer inspections across Saxony-Anhalt. The office also administered a significant number of tax objects, with 1.753 million registered motor vehicles under its purview.

The Main Customs Office collected around 1.961 billion euros in taxes and duties, demonstrating its crucial role in the region's economy. The audit service conducted 101 audits and 1,383 tax supervisory measures to ensure compliance. Additionally, the Traffic Control Unit (KEV) secured substantial amounts of contraband, including cigarettes, tobacco, and e-liquids.

The office's five customs teams in Saxony-Anhalt processed a total of 240,959 customs declarations in 2024, reflecting the volume of trade and economic activity in the region.

The Main Customs Office in Magdeburg employed 530 staff as of December 31, 2024, including 60 trainees for the higher and middle-level customs service. The office's comprehensive work in 2024, from enforcement and inspections to tax collection and trade facilitation, underscores its commitment to supporting the local economy and maintaining public order.
