Luxury car brand Omoda introduces the 9 Super Hybrid model to New Zealand's market, boasting extended dimensions.
The Omoda brand has unveiled its flagship model, the Omoda 9, a luxurious 5-seat SUV that promises to redefine the electric vehicle (EV) market.
Measuring nearly 4.8 meters in length, the Omoda 9 is a large SUV, surpassing the brand's C5 model in size. This spacious design offers ample interior space for passengers and cargo.
Under the hood, the Omoda 9 boasts a 34kWh battery, providing a claimed EV range of 169km. However, with the aid of its hybrid system, the Omoda 9 can reportedly achieve an impressive range of 1100km in hybrid mode.
The Omoda 9 is equipped with three electric motors: two up front and one on the rear axle, making it an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle. The exact workings of these electric motors, as well as the specific company behind the development of the steering wheel remote control, remain undisclosed.

The Omoda 9 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in an impressive 4.9 seconds, making it a speedy addition to the EV market. The battery can be DC fast-charged at up to 70kW, allowing for a charge from 30-80% in approximately 25 minutes.
Priced at $68,990 for the Virtue model, the Omoda 9 is set to make a significant impact in the luxury EV market. Already represented in New Zealand by the C5 (petrol) and E5 (electric) compact-SUVs, the Omoda brand is poised for growth in the region.
