Established by Ludwig Donhauser, a notable figure in the Amberg/Gailoh area, the foundation has been dedicated to social welfare, education, culture, community well-being, and preserving local heritage since its inception in 2020.
Ludwig Donhauser, a Gailoh farmer with no heirs, bequeathed his estate to the foundation upon his death. Over the past two years, the Ludwig-Donhauser Foundation has distributed a total of 14,000 euros to nine charitable associations, including Gailoh Kindergarten Kieselsteinchen, Amberg Tafel, Lebenshilfe Amberg, Hospice Association Amberg, Catholic Women's Social Service, Gailoh Fire Department, Catholic Industrial Helper Station, Ninos Amigos, and Flika.
The foundation's objectives revolve around supporting social welfare projects, promoting education and cultural activities, enhancing community well-being, and preserving local heritage. This support extends to local social service organizations, healthcare providers, educational charities, and cultural institutions.
As Werner Wendl, the chairman of the foundation's board, recalled Ludwig Donhauser, who would have celebrated his 69th birthday around this time, the foundation continues to honour his legacy. Wendl expressed his gratitude to the local community for their ongoing support and encouragement.
