The Heinrich Böll Foundation, a leading organisation promoting democratic decision-making, societal engagement, and international understanding, is currently seeking a Head of Education and Tax Department. The position is based in Berlin, centrally located near the S/U Friedrichstraße station.

Job Description

In this role, the successful candidate will manage approximately 10 employees within the Education & Central Services department. The key responsibilities include preparing consolidated annual financial statements, coordinating audits, and defining guidelines for accounting in Germany and foreign offices.

Moreover, the candidate will participate in the joint task "Inclusion, Gender Democracy, and Anti-Discrimination." They will also represent the department head of Education & Central Services and take part in the ERP system upgrade project.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold a completed scientific university degree with a focus on accounting / taxes / finance or a comparable qualification. Essential qualifications also include sound knowledge and several years of experience in education, tax knowledge, proficiency in ERP software, and proven experience in personnel management.

The ideal candidate should have very good knowledge of German and English, a target-oriented, solution-oriented, and independent working style, and strong teamwork skills. Knowledge of public budget and grant law and experience in managing public funds are considered advantages.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this position is according to EG 13 TVöD-O upon fulfillment of personal requirements. The offer also includes a transparent and fair salary structure with an annual bonus.
