Introducing the Baojun Yep Plus: A New Electric Compact SUV
The Baojun Yep Plus, a larger version of the Yep SUV, is set to launch next month. This electric compact SUV boasts a distinctive "Square Box+" design with a black enclosed grille that houses dual charging ports.
The Yep Plus rides on 16-inch low-rolling resistance tires and has a ground clearance of 150 mm and a turning radius of 5.35 m. It measures 3996 mm in length, 1760 mm in width, and 1726 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2560 mm, making it suitable for urban and light off-road driving.
Under the hood, the Baojun Yep Plus is powered by a 75 kW electric motor on the rear axle and will use a lithium iron battery. The power source is a 16 kWh battery, which, along with the motor, is expected to provide efficient urban range. The exact battery capacity and CLTC range have yet to be announced.
Comfort and safety features include halogen front and rear fog lamps, a 4-way manual adjustable driver airbag, and a reverse camera for parking assistance. The Yep Plus also comes with automatic headlights that use 184 LEDs, and for improved braking performance, it features dual-piston brake calipers.
Interior enhancements like premium seat covers, floor mats, and an upgraded infotainment system with larger touchscreens, wireless CarPlay, and enhanced speakers are available as accessory upgrades. The Yep Plus also features zebra lights at the front and track lights at the back.
The Yep Plus will be available in five colors: cloud grey, cloud sea white, azure blue, aurora green, and space black. Sales of the three-door Yep began in May, and over the course of last year, Baojun sold 14,683 of them.
Pricing for the Yep Plus is expected to be around 100,000 yuan (13,850 USD), but the exact price, wheelbase, tire size, and other specifications have not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates on the Baojun Yep Plus.
