Starting September 8, the city of Bottrop will undertake significant roadworks and renovations in key junction areas of Moltkestraße, Parkstraße, and Goebenstraße. Simultaneously, the company Iqony will commence construction work to expand the district heating network on Kirchhellener Straße.

The city's department of civil engineering will renew the asphalt surfaces and carry out necessary marking works in these areas, following the completion of Iqony's work. The renewal of asphalt surfaces in the mentioned junction areas will require closures of Kirchhellener Street.

Kirchhellener Street will be closed in the construction area from September 8 to 12, specifically in the area between Tourneaustraße and Moltkestraße. Appropriate detours will be set up for the closures, and these will be signposted.

The closure of Kirchhellener Street is related to the renewal of asphalt surfaces in the junction areas of Moltkestraße, Parkstraße, and Goebenstraße. Iqony will begin work on the district heating network in Kirchhellener Street starting next Monday, September 1. The new asphalt needs to cure for about two weeks before the marking works can begin.

In the coming weeks, construction work on Kirchhellener Street will continue. Once completed, the bike street can be officially opened for use. It's important to note that the redesign of Kirchhellener Street into a bike street is not yet fully completed.

Additionally, house connections will be renewed in the junction area of Steinmetzstraße. The missing signage will be installed simultaneously with the asphalt renewal and marking works.

The works are expected to last until approximately September 30, with the completion of all works expected to be around mid-October. During this period, no traffic will be allowed in the closed section of Kirchhellener Street.

Motorists and cyclists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the detour signs to ensure a smooth journey during these works. Once completed, the city of Bottrop will have modernised infrastructure and a new bike street for the benefit of its residents and visitors.
