Industrial theft investigation: Two individuals in custody, as announced by the Lörrach Public Prosecutor's Office and the Police Headquarters Freiburg-Weil am Rhein
In an ongoing investigation, two Tunisian nationals, aged 20 and 23, have been arrested in connection with a perfume theft that took place on September 3, 2025.
The incident occurred near a shopping center in Freiburg, where a police attempt to stop the suspects was unsuccessful. The men, who were later identified as the main suspects, were believed to have stolen multiple perfumes from a drugstore in Weil am Rhein.
Following the unsuccessful attempt to apprehend the suspects in Freiburg, an arrest warrant was issued for both individuals on September 4, 2025, by the investigating judge at the Lörrach District Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lörrach.
Shortly after the theft, the suspects were arrested by police at the scene in Weil am Rhein. During the search, several stolen perfumes were recovered, with the total value of the recovered items being in the three-digit range.
