Increased Prices for Exported Beef in Belarus

In a move to support the domestic agricultural sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus has increased the maximum minimum prices for domestically produced meat products sold under foreign trade contracts. The changes, outlined in decree No. 82, dated September 15, came into force on September 17, 2025.

The decree has raised the prices for beef from young cattle and adult bulls by 10 cents, setting the new price at $5.3 per kilogram. However, prices for cow meat remain unchanged at $4.3 per kilogram.

The increase in prices applies only to exports to all countries except Russia. The Ministry has not made any public statements regarding the reasons for this increase.

This latest move is part of a series of economic policies implemented by the Belarusian government aimed at supporting the domestic agricultural sector. The previous increase in export prices for food products, regulated by the Ministry, took place on September 4.

It is important to note that the decree does not indicate any plans for further increases in minimum prices for domestically produced meat products. Additionally, it does not specify any changes in consumer loans, auto loans, business loans, mortgages, deposits, loans, business current accounts, credit cards, debit cards, leasing services for new cars, leasing services for used cars, or leasing services for business cars.

The impact of the price increase on the domestic meat market and the overall economy of Belarus remains to be seen. As the changes take effect, it will be interesting to observe how the market responds and how the economy is affected.
